CustomVue LASIK

Unlike conventional LASIK where lasers apply a uniform power of treatment across the patients cornea, similar to a contact lens; CustomVue technology, developed by VISX allows the doctor to customize the treatment strength across the surface of the eye based on each individual patient's unique optical variations and imperfections.

This ground breaking procedure is made possible by using Wave-Front technology. This technology maps the optical properties of the entire eye creating a 3D map of the unique imperfections of each eye. Dr Haddad (yes, Dr. Haddad is the one who plans the treatment) is then able to customize a precise treatment after acquiring multiple maps of each eye. The CustomVue plan is then fed to the laser for the actual treatment. During the treatment the CustomVue treatment is lined up an centered with extreme precision using landmarks on the Iris with Iris Registration

Since adopting this revolutionary technology in May of 2003 Dr. Haddad has been able to give 3 out of 4 patients better then 20/20 vision, with practically no night vision issues that were more common with conventional LASIK. Dr. Daniel Haddad was honored to be one of the first to utilize this technology in Michigan, and currently has the most experience in the state with CustomVUE. Utilizing Dr. Haddad´s 20 years of experience and VISX´s groundbreaking technology the Laser Eye Institute has seen phenomenal results in our patients, with 76% seeing better than 20/20 (perfect vision) and 98% seeing 20/20 (perfect vision).
